Created out of a necessity to organize and strengthen the mineral industry in the state of Bahia, SINDIMIBA (The Syndicate of Extractive Industries for Metals, Precious and Noble Metals, Precious and Semiprecious Stones, and Magnesite in the State of Bahia) was founded on January 28 th , 2010 and legally certified as a Registered Syndicate by the Minister of Labor and Employment on March 24 th , 2017.

Sindimiba has been, since its founding, the preeminent institution in the coordination, protection, and legal representation of extractive industries linked to the syndicate and based out of the state of Bahia, collaborating and maintaining a dialog with the public authorities and other associations and entities, and in constant pursuit of open and progressive communication in order to create a reliable pathway to tend to all public and private needs which the mineral industry in Bahia might experience.

Together with our associates, Sindimiba has encouraged integration and coordination, identifying issues of interest to the sector and actively and clearly promoting the industry alongside the general public.

The Syndicate Board is comprised of 15 members, all of whom are contributors from associate companies. In addition, the syndicate is represented on the board of the Federation of Bahian Industry, FIEB – an institution of which we are a member – via two appointed representatives. Sindimiba is a private entity, sustained exclusively through its associate companies, and as such none of its directors, board representatives, committee members or legal counsel receive any type of salary, compensation or benefits.
